New Horizon Experience. This article describes the New Horizon Experience, which is currently available only in the Horizon WebRef mobile apps for Android and iOS. It is coming soon to desktop and laptop.
Both layouts are in use right now. In the Horizon WebRef mobile apps for Android and iOS you see the New Horizon Experience. On a computer or laptop in a web browser you still see the older legacy layout. Match the steps to the screen in front of you. When a control or rule exists on only one layout, this article says so. The steps below start with the New Horizon Experience in the apps, then cover that older desktop or laptop layout.
This article covers Standings in HorizonWebRef - the page where your organization keeps saved standings and you open one to see the table.
It is for officials who are not General Members, assignors, coaches, and organization administrators, when the league module is on. Use it when you want to see win-loss-tie records from reported scores, or when an organization administrator needs to add or change how a standing is calculated. Officials who are General Members do not open this page.
On a computer or laptop you still see the older legacy layout until the New Horizon Experience arrives there. The steps below start with the New Horizon Experience in the apps, then cover that older desktop or laptop layout.
How standings work
Each standing has its own name, season dates, who is included, and points. Records use the two scores on each game. A win, a loss, or a tie is all that is counted, and only for a team that actually played that game.
Both scores must be filled in. Cancelled games are not counted. Meetings and similar non-game records are not counted. A game does not have to be marked posted.
Place is decided by the ranking and tiebreakers saved on that standing. The table is live: when scores change, open the standing again and the numbers refresh.
Turn standings on and set them up
Standings need the league module turned on for your organization. Organization administrators do that in System Settings. If you see Standings are turned off for this organization, the league module is off.
On Game Structure, each League has Use standings. Turn that on for Leagues that should be included when Horizon creates the first saved standing. You can still include other Leagues later when you edit a standing.
The first time someone opens Standings and your organization has no saved standings at all, Horizon adds a standing named Default with the current season start through the current season end, two points for a win, one for a tie, and zero for a loss. If every standing has been archived, the list stays empty until an organization administrator chooses Add standing.
Open a saved standing
Sign in and open Standings from the Schedule tools, or use Standings. The page title is Standings. The subtitle on larger screens is Open a saved standing to see records from reported scores.
Saved standings lists every active standing. Each card shows the name, date range, points for a win, a tie, and a loss, and chips such as All Leagues or how many Leagues, Game Codes, Teams, and Locations are included. On a phone, a right caret on the card means you can open it.
Choose a standing. Results shows that standing's name and the table. A short summary can list how many teams, how many games scored, and the date range. On a large screen the list and results sit side by side. On a phone you see the list first, then the results after you open a standing.
On a phone, return to the list from Utilities with Configure standings. On a large screen you do not need that item because the list stays on the page.
If no standing is selected, Results says Choose a standing to see the table. If the standing has no matching scores, you see No scores yet and No reported scores match this standing yet. If the list is empty, viewers see No standings to show and An organization administrator has not set up a standing yet. Organization administrators see Add a standing to start calculating records from reported scores and can use Add standing.
Read the table
On a large screen, Results is a table with Place, the team name, Record, GP (games played), and Points. When the standing shows goals, you also see GF, GA, and GD. When it shows percentage, you see Pct.
On a phone, each team is a card. The orange header shows Place, the team name, and Points. The body shows labeled tiles for Record, Games played, and, when those columns are on, percentage, Goals for, Goals against, and Goal difference.
Add or edit a standing
Organization administrators see Add standing (a plus on a phone). Pencil is Edit standing. The panel title is Add standing or Edit standing.
Work through the sections in order, then choose Save standing.
Name - Give this standing a name people will recognize. Notes is optional. Two active standings cannot share the same name. You can reuse a name after the other standing is archived. If the name is already in use you see An active standing already uses this name. Choose a different name, or archive the other standing first.
Season dates - From and Through. Only scored games in this date range are counted. A new standing starts with the current season start through the current season end. The start date must be on or before the end date.
Who is included - Optionally limit Leagues, Game Codes, Teams, and Locations. Leave a list blank to include all. Selecting every option is not needed. When teams are selected, choose Count a game if either team is on the list or Count a game only if both teams are on the list.
Points - Points awarded for a Win, a Tie, and a Loss, based on the two scores only.
Ranking - Use Rank by to choose Total points, Points percentage, or Winning percentage. Then set Tiebreakers (in order): Wins, Goal difference, Goals for, Goals against, Head-to-head points, and Games played.
Columns - Optionally turn on Show goals for, against, and difference and Show percentage.
If you close with unsaved changes, you are asked Discard changes? Choose Discard or Keep editing.
Duplicate or archive
Copy duplicates the standing and adds (copy) to the name, or a number if that name is already in use. Archive removes it from the list. You can add a new one later. Confirm with Archive this standing? Archiving does not restore a Default standing by itself.
Print and export
On a computer, open Utilities for Print and Export CSV. Print opens a printable copy. Export CSV downloads the table as a spreadsheet file. Those two items are not in the Horizon WebRef mobile apps. On a phone in the apps, Utilities is there so you can choose Configure standings.
On a computer or laptop (older layout)
Until the New Horizon Experience arrives on desktop and laptop, that screen is the older standings calculator. You pick dates and optional filters for Leagues, Game Codes, Teams, and Locations, then calculate. Those choices are for that visit. They are not saved as named standings for the whole organization.
Leave a filter blank to include all. You do not need to select every item. After the table appears, use Send to Printer or export to a Word document when those links are shown.
The same scoring idea applies: two scores on each game, a win, a loss, or a tie, and the team must have played. On this older layout, Leagues that are not marked Use standings stay out of the calculation.
