New Horizon Experience. This article describes the New Horizon Experience, which is available now. As of September 28, 2026, New Horizon is the default starting point on a computer or laptop. In the Horizon WebRef mobile apps for Android and iOS, New Horizon is already what you see. If you still have the older layout, choose Switch to New Horizon from the banner or your account menu. You can switch back to Legacy Horizon from that menu any time during the transition.
This article covers the three layouts on Horizon game schedules: the table on larger screens, and Compact or Detailed cards on phones. The same pattern appears on every schedule page you can open: the Master Game Schedule, My Schedule, Team Schedule, TBA Requests, and the Public Schedule.
Officials, assignors, coaches, and other signed-in members use these views on the schedule they can open. Visitors on the Public Schedule see the same layouts when that page is available. Nothing has to be turned on in System Settings - the views are part of the New Horizon Experience itself. Use this article when you want more games on screen, more detail on each game, or when you are wondering why a phone shows cards while a computer shows a table.
When each view appears
Horizon picks the layout from your screen size. On a computer, laptop, or other large screen, the schedule opens as a table. There is no separate Table button on the schedule - the table is the large-screen layout.
On a phone or other narrow screen, the schedule opens as cards instead. You choose how much detail each card shows with the two buttons next to the date range. Those buttons are labeled Compact and Detailed (on the Master Game Schedule they say Compact cards and Detailed cards). The group is called Card density. The buttons hide on large screens because the table is already showing.
If you shrink a wide browser until it is phone-sized, the list switches to cards and the density buttons appear. Widen it again and the table returns. Your Compact or Detailed choice is remembered for that schedule on that kind of device.
Table view
The table is built for scanning many games at once. Each game is a row. Columns typically include when the game starts, Type (League plus Game Code together), home and away when your organization uses teams, the venue, and the actions that apply on that schedule. My Schedule also shows fee and partners when those are allowed. Master Game Schedule adds fill and crew columns so assignors can see openings at a glance. Game ID or a reference number appear when your organization shows them.
Status chips such as Published, Unpublished, Cancelled, TBA, or Pay by Team sit with the date or Type so they stay readable without crowding the matchup. Accept and Decline (or Attending / Not Attending on a meeting) sit in the Actions column when a response is still needed. Tap or click a row, or use Details, to open the full game.
Compact cards
Compact packs more games on a phone screen. Each card is a short row: day and time on the left, the matchup (or meeting title) in the middle, and a one-line summary of venue and Type. Compact cards keep status light - for example Cancelled or TBA when those apply - and put Accept and Decline (or that schedule's other actions) on the right so you can respond without opening Details.
Partners and crew stay short on Compact cards - often a brief cue rather than a full list - so the card stays scannable. On TBA Requests, Compact cards also omit pay so the list stays short. Meetings show the meeting title instead of home and away, and they do not show League or Game Code.
Detailed cards
Detailed uses a taller card so you can read more before you open the game. The header shows the full when line and the game ID when IDs are shown. Below that you get Away and Home labeled separately when teams are in use, the venue, League and Game Code as separate lines (not only the combined Type), fee when pay is shown, and the partner or crew list when your organization allows it. Status chips such as Published, Unpublished, Open, or Pay by Team sit on the card with the matchup.
Accept and Decline stay on the card as full labeled buttons when a response is still needed. On TBA Requests, Detailed cards also show pay: a range when open positions pay different amounts, a single amount when they match (or when a fellow official posted their assignment), and nothing when every open assignor-posted position pays zero. Meetings still use the meeting title and skip League and Game Code.
How to change views
On a phone, tap the grid icon for Detailed or the list icon for Compact. The active choice is highlighted. You do not need to apply filters or reload the page - the list redraws right away. Change the view any time; it does not change which games are in your date range or filters.
On a computer or laptop in New Horizon, stay with the table. If you need Compact or Detailed cards, open the same schedule on a phone, or narrow the browser until the card layout appears.
When you are signed in, each schedule remembers Compact or Detailed for about 30 days on that device size, separate from the other schedules. Master, My Schedule, Team Schedule, TBA Requests, and Public Schedule each keep their own choice. If you still see the older layout
On a computer or laptop, the older legacy layout stays only if you switched back to Legacy Horizon. As of September 28, 2026, New Horizon is the default starting point. Choose Switch to New Horizon from the banner or your account menu to return. The Compact and Detailed card density buttons, and the New Horizon table layout described above, belong to New Horizon. Until that older layout is retired, use the English words you see on that older screen.
