Setting your System Language Preference

Choose the language Horizon uses for pages, emails, and texts.

New Horizon Experience. This article describes the New Horizon Experience. In the Horizon WebRef mobile apps for Android and iOS, New Horizon is already what you see. On a computer or laptop, choose Try the New Horizon Experience from the banner or your account menu. You can switch back from that menu any time.

This article covers the language setting on Personal Profile and in the New Horizon account menu. Every signed-in member sets language for their own account.

Use it on first sign-in when Horizon asks for a language, or later when you want a different language. For the rest of the profile, see Personal Profile. Finding the account menu is covered in How to find your way around New Horizon.

Both layouts are in use right now. In the Horizon WebRef mobile apps you see the New Horizon Experience. On a computer or laptop, the older legacy layout stays until you choose Try the New Horizon Experience from the banner or your account menu. Match the steps to the screen in front of you.

Choose a language from the account menu

On a phone, open your account menu (your name or photo) and choose Language. Pick the language you want. The page may reload.

On a computer, language is the flag in the top bar, next to your name, instead of an item inside the account menu.

The list shows the languages Horizon offers today, including English, French, Spanish, and others. English is the default. Some phrases in other languages may still be catching up.

Choose a language on Personal Profile

You can also set language on Personal Profile. Open Preferences. Language controls emails, texts, and page language. Changing it may reload the page.

On a computer, the same screen uses the wider layout.

In some places the site or app language selector drives this value, and the field on the profile is read-only. Use the account menu or the flag in that case.

If you still see the older legacy desktop or laptop layout

On the older all-in-one profile, language sits on a Preferences tab instead of a Preferences tile. The account-menu Language item and the top-bar flag belong to the New Horizon Experience. The language you choose still applies to pages, emails, and texts on both layouts.
