New Horizon Experience. This article describes the New Horizon Experience, which is available now. As of September 28, 2026, New Horizon is the default starting point on a computer or laptop. In the Horizon WebRef mobile apps for Android and iOS, New Horizon is already what you see. If you still have the older layout, choose Switch to New Horizon from the banner or your account menu. You can switch back to Legacy Horizon from that menu any time during the transition.
This article covers the required priority message screen officials must acknowledge before using most of Horizon.
How you get here from sign-in
After you sign in, Horizon normally opens Members Home. If your organization has a required priority message you have not acknowledged yet, Horizon opens the acknowledgment screen instead of Home. You do not find this under a normal side-menu link - it appears until you finish it.
You can still open a few account pages (such as My Profile, password, Change Organization, or System Settings when you have access) without acknowledging first. Almost every other page returns you to this message until you confirm it.
When this screen appears (and how administrators create it)
Members do not open this from a menu. It appears after sign-in when an organization administrator posted a Members Home message with priority HIGH - Read Receipt Required that you have not acknowledged yet.
Organization administrators: on Members Home, use the organization messages / admin message tools to compose a message and set priority to HIGH - Read Receipt Required. After you send it, other officials are asked to acknowledge before they can use most of Horizon. Normal (non-high) priority messages do not force this screen.
Acknowledge the message
Read the message, check the acknowledgment box when shown, then choose Acknowledge Message. When that succeeds, Horizon continues to Members Home.
If you still see the older layout
On a computer or laptop, the older legacy layout appears only if you switched back to Legacy Horizon. Choose Switch to New Horizon from the banner or your account menu to return. Menu names may sit under Administrative Forms or the classic side menu. The jobs you can do on the page stay the same.
