Block Systems

Blocking teams, locations, leagues, and more to prevent scheduling

Updated over a week ago

Administrators of a subscription can enable or disable various Block Systems within a subscription to allow schedulers and/or officials the ability to Block certain attributes of a game so that an official is not scheduled to a game with one of those attributes. The available block systems are:

  • Partner Block System (Feature #4)
Prevent the system from scheduling someone to a game with a specific partner by blocking other officials/users.

  • Team Block System (Feature #5)
Prevent the system from scheduling someone to a game with a specific Team by blocking teams.

  • Location Block System (Feature #6)
Prevent the system from scheduling someone to a game with a specific Location by blocking locations.

  • Game Code Block System (Feature #7)
Prevent the system from scheduling someone to a game with a specific Game Code by blocking game codes.

  • Position Block System (Feature #8)
Prevent the system from scheduling someone to a game with a specific Position by blocking positions.

  • League Block System (Feature #9)
Prevent the system from scheduling someone to a game with a specific League by blocking leagues.

Each Block System can be enabled or disabled by an administrator on the System Settings page via Features #4 through #9. Block Systems can be further controlled, so they are either:

  • Editable by officials and schedulers

  • Editable by schedulers only

System Overrides

Block systems are used as a primary means of scheduling. However, an assignor can override these block systems at any time at their discretion. These settings are a preference, not a guarantee.

How to access the Block Systems

Each respective system can be accessed on the Administrative Forms page, under the Block Systems heading. If this section is not visible, or certain block systems are not visible, then they have been disabled by an administrator. Only the enabled features are visible while disabled features will be completely hidden.

Reviewing the Block Systems

Users with Assignor permissions or higher can review the block systems at any time and for any user. To do so, navigate to one of the block systems pages, then choose the desired user you wish to review using the user selection menu.

Block System Reports

There are two reports available for viewing blocks that have been created in the system. These reports are available to users with Assignor or Administrator permissions using the corresponding option shown in the top toolbar on any of the block system pages. You can access any of the block system pages from the Administrative Forms page of the software.

Block Summary Report

The Block Summary report displays a numerical list of the number of blocks each user has on their account. The list is separated by the number of blocks the viewer has created, the number of blocks others have created, and the total number of blocks. The report also provides a "DELETE BLOCKS" option. For assignors, this will delete all the blocks they have personally created for named users. For users with administrator permissions, using this option will delete all the blocks created by them or any other assignor. It's important to note that using this option will not delete blocks created by the named users themselves.

Full List of Blocks Report

The Full List of Blocks report provides comprehensive line-by-line detail of every block created in the system, along with information about when and who created it. This report may be extensive for larger organizations and could take some time to load.

These two reports are available via the in-system displays only and do not offer printable or exportable spreadsheet options at this time.
