New Horizon Experience. This article describes the New Horizon Experience, which is currently available only in the Horizon WebRef mobile apps for Android and iOS. It is coming soon to desktop and laptop.
Assign by official is a specialized assigning method, not the everyday way to assign. The usual method is assigning by game: on the Master Game Schedule, tap Assign on a game to open the assign window. See How to assign officials to a game for that workflow. Use Assign by official (Assign by User) when you want to fill several games for one person. Officials who only work games do not open this tool unless they also assign.
Choose a person and a date range
Open Assign by official from the Master Game Schedule. The window is wide so you can scan many games at once. After you find games, scroll the window itself: search and results move together, and more games load as you reach the bottom.
Choose an official
In Choose an official, type a last name or first name to search everyone in the organization (names come from their profile). Opening the list without typing only shows the first names alphabetically. Type W to jump to last names that start with W. The list shows a short set of matches and says Keep typing to find someone else. when more people match.
Date range
Pick a date range of 60 days or fewer, then find games. Quick ranges include this weekend, the next 7, 14, or 30 days, the next 6 weeks, this month or next month, or a custom range. The next 90 days and quarter presets are not offered. Rest of season or full season appears only when that span is 60 days or fewer.
Filters on a phone
On a phone in the Horizon WebRef app, extra Filters are the funnel icon in this window (not the older filter row on the Master Game Schedule). Tap it to open a Narrow panel on the same screen, not a side panel. Set the options you want, then tap Find games so the list uses them. A red number on the funnel counts league, game code, and venue picks only.

After you find games
After you find games, chips above the list show how many leagues, game codes, and venues you picked. Eligible and Ineligible buttons on the results bar filter that list further. This tool does not use Quick filters or the 30-day remembered filters from the Master Game Schedule. Horizon remembers your last official and dates for the next time you open the tool in this session.
Empty lists
If Eligible or Ineligible has no games yet, Horizon keeps the same playful loading messages it uses for Find games while it looks further. When a later stretch has matches, that list appears. If Horizon checks a large stretch and still finds none, it stops and shows a card instead of an empty table header.
When no games match the search at all, that card says No games match this search. and Try a different official, date range, or Filters, then search again. After Horizon stops early, the card says Horizon checked many games and stopped. Narrow the date range or Filters, then search again. Tap Search again to scroll to the search area and open the date range.
When only the Eligible list is empty after a complete look, the card says No eligible games to show. and Open Ineligible to see why, or widen the date range. When only the Ineligible list is empty after a complete look, it says No ineligible games to show. and Every game in this range is on the Eligible list.
Eligible games
The list uses the same eligibility rules as the assign window. Eligible means the person qualifies for that game. Available means only their calendar. Someone can be available and still not eligible.
Results bar
Each game uses the same orange color streak as the Master Game Schedule. Eligible and Ineligible use the same green and amber buttons as the assigning window, with a count on each. Those buttons are the only counts on the results bar. A list with zero games shows the empty card described above, not a table header with no rows.
Compact cards
On a phone you can switch Compact or Detailed cards. Compact keeps date, teams, and a short venue · type line (type is League plus Game Code, the same combined line as the Master Game Schedule), plus a small openings number. The position menu and Assign sit on their own row under that game info, the same way they do in the assigning window. Compact does not show Metrics or an availability dot.
Detailed cards
Detailed cards follow the same stack as detailed cards on the Master Game Schedule: a black date header (Today or Tomorrow when it applies, otherwise the weekday, then the month and day, then the time), then the Away and Home matchup, then venue, League, and Game Code in that order. Openings (the people icon plus a number) sits in that date header to the left of Metrics (the chart icon). Detailed cards do not show an availability dot. Assign is the plus-person icon only on small screens.
Metrics
The chart icon opens a colorful snapshot for this person against that game: shaded season tiles, a short read on team or venue exposure, workload, this game level, and declines or turnbacks from assignment history, plus charts only when they have data.
Table on a larger screen
On a larger screen the list is a table: When, League, Game Code, teams, venue, availability, openings (people icon plus a number), and Assign line up so you can scan down a column and pick the best match. The position menu in that table is wide enough to show the full position name.
Why a game is not eligible
When a game is not eligible, the same why chips as the assigning window explain the miss: rank, age, groups, block lists, site rules, or the calendar. Tap a chip to open the same prove-it panel as assigning, with the exact calendar window, block, ranking, or conflict details for that reason.
Positions
Position lists start blank and only include openings this person is qualified for on that game, so different games can offer different positions. If they qualify for some positions but not all, a warning icon sits next to the position menu on the table and on Detailed cards (same as the assigning window). Tap it to see which positions are not eligible and why. Compact cards hide that icon to keep the row short.
Assign and overrides
Choose positions on one or several games, then tap Assign on any row. Horizon assigns every game that has a position chosen, and checks that the person is available, eligible, and qualified for each game and position. If they are not, Horizon asks you to confirm an override before it saves. If they are already assigned to a game, or their account is not ready to assign, the position menu and Assign are hidden on that game - the same as the assigning window - and you cannot override those games. The game list stays where you left it.
After you assign
The list stays open so you can keep assigning. The Master Game Schedule refreshes those games when you close the window.
Closing metrics returns you to the list.
