Most importantly, you should be aware that Horizon does not issue payments. We are a software platform used by officiating organizations. Your officiating organization is who issues you a payment. Your officiating organization decides when, how often, and the dollar amount for any payment issued to you. The timeline on when or how your officiating organization chooses to issue you payments is entirely up to them.
Horizon provides software tools to help them calculate or assist with issuing electronic payments, but not all officiating organizations use these options. You should contact your officiating organization for details about their payment practices.
Horizon cannot force your officiating organization to issue you a payment.
Horizon cannot change the dollar amount of a payment issued to you.
Horizon does not issue W-2 or 1099 tax forms to officials.
Horizon cannot settle disputes about payments owed to you by a team, school, league, or officiating organization.
Horizon cannot provide you with data or payment information for officiating organizations that you no longer have permission to access.
Does my organization use Horizon to issue electronic payments?
To determine if your officiating organization uses any of the Horizon software systems for issuing payments, you will need to contact your officiating organization directly to inquire about their payment practices. If your organization has elected to use the Payment Center to issue electronic payments, you may see this support article for details on setting up a payment receiver account to receive electronic payments.
My officiating organization issues payments outside of the Horizon software
This is not uncommon. Officiating organizations commonly use outside payment methods, like paying you with a physical check or using an outside payroll service that is entirely separate from the Horizon software. Horizon cannot assist with this process, and you must contact your officiating organization directly for details and guidance on this.
My officiating organization uses the Payment Center
If your officiating organization uses the Payment Center to issue payments, they will still control when payments are issued and the dollar amount of those payments. The Payment Center does not automatically issue payments. Your officiating organization must still manually issue a payment to you at their discretion and based on their desired timeline. If a payment has been issued to you, you will see the transaction shown on the Transactions tab in the Payment Center. You may see this support article for details on when to expect the transaction to arrive in your bank account. You must contact your officiating organization directly to inquire about their payment schedule and timeline for how often they issue payments.
